Special Interest Tourism


§Grouping together similar types of tourism experience, attraction or activity can result in the establishment of distinctive categories or types of tourism.
§These types of tourism have, in recent years, become known as ‘Special Interest Tourism’ (SIT) and are intricately associated with the actual attractions and activities sought by the tourist.
§Over time, different types of SIT will grow in popularity, mature and peak, and then decline.
